Does the XL Family Lactation Pod meet PUMP Act requirements?
The federal PUMP Act requires a private space, other than a bathroom, shielded from view and free from intrusion, and functional for pumping. The XL is designed to those requirements at family scale: fully enclosed, locking, with an in-use light and power for any pump. Your HR or legal team makes the final call for your site.
Who is the XL Family Lactation Pod for?
Airports, hospitals, universities, and large workplaces. The Friendly Airports for Mothers (FAM) Act, part of the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018, requires medium and large hub airports to provide a lactation room in each terminal behind security, and the XL is sized for exactly that duty: stroller room, seating for two, and a lockable door on a busy concourse.
How much does a lactation pod cost?
PrivacyPod lactation pods cost $10,995 for the Solo Lactation Pod, a one-person pod about 5.3 by 4.5 ft, and $13,495 for the XL Family Lactation Pod, a 7.6 by 5.9 ft footprint with seating for two plus a stroller. Both prices include the pod, with free shipping in the continental US; furniture kits are priced separately and made to order. The White exterior with Ash interior ships Quick-Ship in 1 to 2 weeks; other finishes are made to order in 9 to 11 weeks.
How do we keep it clean?
The shell is wipe-down vinyl over solid panels, and the furniture surfaces wipe clean. Most facilities fold the pod into the regular cleaning route and keep a wipes caddy inside.
Can we brand it for our building?
Yes. Custom exterior colors and printed graphics, from wayfinding icons to your logo, are quoted per project: contact our team with your artwork.
Is there an ADA version?
The Solo and XL Family Lactation Pods are not offered in an ADA configuration today. If your site needs an accessible lactation room, talk to our team about the floorless-entry L ADA and XL ADA platforms and current options.
